Three classic BASIC game books DEC 07 2003
The full text of a trilogy of classic computer books are now available at AtariArchives.org: BASIC Computer Games (published 1978,) More BASIC Computer Games (1978), and Big Computer Games (1984.) Edited by David Ahl of Creative Computing Magazine, the books feature type-in BASIC games, including such classics as Animal, Blackbox, Eliza, Hammurabi, Lunar LEM Rocket, Mugwump, and Hunt the Wumpus. The two earlier books feature illustrations by George Beker, which will be instantly recognizable by anyone who read these books or Creative Computing magazine 20 or more years ago. With this announcement, AtariArchives.org has reached the milestone of making 25 classic computer books available on the Web. Read them at www.atariarchives.org/new.php

WiNGs switches from Make to Jam DEC 04 2003
Jolz has switched WiNGs build construction from „Make“ to „Jam.“ These systems are both used to control the construction of a multi-filed, multi-programmed, project. Make used to be responsible for compiling all the WiNGs components with all the right attributes, and then putting the files all together into the correct directory structure, and finally zipping it all up for a single downloadable distribution. But „Make“ had it?s shortcomings and was not adequate for needs that WiNGs has evolved over the course of its development. But JAM! does meet those needs. So these past few days the switch over was made. For developers, this means creating multi-file, .app packaged programs becomes a lot easier.

NOTE: Content of this page is outlined in the info line of your browser. In short – people active on C64 computer are preferred. News about releases not executable on C64 such as new mp3 remixes and C64 game remakes, or news not directly related to active C64 scene (as various web site updates) might end in beta-news. While we also like MP3 remixes, or various C64 related fun pages, active C64 scene is our priority.
